A potter’s day begins with clay. Every morning, the same movements repeated, yet every day’s clay is different, every day’s hands are different.
When asked if repeating the same thing gets boring, the potter answers: nothing is the same. Repetition is the process of creating difference.
After finishing work, washing clay away is a ritual of releasing what was made today and returning to tomorrow’s empty hands.
Showering at the end of the day, washing away today’s things. Like the potter’s handwashing, our shower is also a completion.
